Solaris Offgrid is delighted to now count on Microsoft as one of its most prestigious supporters.

Last week, the global technology giant released the names of the 10 businesses short listed to benefit from The Microsoft Affordable Access Initiative (#AAIGrant). Solaris Offgrid was part of the 10 winners alongside Electric Vine Industries (Indonesia), Kukua Weather Services (Uganda), Picosoft (Nepal), Sigora International (Haiti), Standard Microgrid (Zambia), SunCulture (Kenya), VABB (Virginia), VisionNet (Democratic Republic of the Congo) and WrightGrid (Democratic Republic of the Congo).

Paul Garnett, senior director of Microsoft’s Affordable Access Initiatives, to say “We’re inspired by our grantees’ passion to bring internet and energy access, and the economic benefits that flow from it, to parts of the world that need it most”.

Indeed, as Mr Garnett points it out, this grant (composed of funding, computer services and empowerment) will allow our firm to couple internet/tablet access services to the current energy access offers available in Tanzania in order to decouple our demonstrated impact.
